Meet Lauren

I grew up in a family where I was taught two things that forever changed my life. First, I was the daughter of pastors who introduced me to Jesus. There is not a day that I can’t remember loving and trusting Him. He has been and continues to be my truest source of joy and hope. Second, I was encouraged to know my giftings, strengths, and passions and to commit to pursue them for the glory of God. I was free to pursue a life of purpose and meaning. My mom would say, “If money were no issue, what would you spend your life doing? Whatever that is, find a way to make it your life’s work.”

Within these two life-changing realities, three things were my consistent pursuits and passions—beauty, music, and leadership. Beauty captivated me as a young girl. I loved hair, makeup, and fashion. I was drawn to the beauty found in nature, people, music, and creative environments. The beauty of Jesus continued to lead me to behold Him and want to become like Him. Music was in the fiber of my family. My mom was a worship leader, vocal coach, and piano teacher. She would gather my sisters and me around the piano and teach us to sing and harmonize. Leadership was innate within me. I began leading in my church, school, and work at a young age. I was drawn to strong leaders and would watch and learn from their life.

There are so many details that sit within the time of teenage years to the present day. Today I sit at the intersection of the pursuit of my childhood passions now lived out through artistry, worship, and empowerment. I am a hairstylist, worship leader, and senior leader of Ecclesia City. I am a wife and mother, friend and sister. All that I do is rooted in beholding the beauty of God, the true source of beauty, and becoming more like Him. I lead others to the sacred connection of beauty.
